Description

There is evidence of the presence of a Jewish community in Rosheim dating back to 1215. It grew large from the 17th century onwards. The town also retains a few vestiges of this period, here and there in the narrow streets. To meet the needs of the community, a new synagogue was opened in 1884. This building was re-opened in 1959. It is now closed. You can still admire the neo-Romanesque façade.
