The Ottrott Castles

Two magnificent ruins dominate the Plain of Alsace above the village of Ottrott. Two medieval castles, separated by some ten metres, as if confronting each other: Rathsamhausen and Lutzelbourg. The first has a castle keep that is unique in Alsace and its significant remains give visitors a good understanding of how its inhabitants used to live.



Location and access : From Klingenthal, follow directions to Mont Sainte-Odile, park in the car park at the entrance to the Eichwaeldel residence and then follow the Club Vosgien signposting.




The construction site is only accessible on Tuesday mornings (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and all day on Saturdays (construction days).
