Description
"The Donon mountain range is home to an incredible forest. The mainly forest Donon-Schneeberg sites on ridges or slopes are devoted to the protection of certain birds (wood grouse, hazel grouse, woodpeckers, typical shrikes and peregrine falcons), lynxes, wild cats, bats, amphibians, reptiles and insects. In terms of flora, many of the plants are protected too: taxicole fern, peat plants, rocks and scree.
Part of the mountain range is listed by ""Nature 2000"", the European project that identifies areas to protect their remarkable natural habitats."
