In 1810 was created t he Mützig breweryby Antoine Wagner. It produced mainly bright beers. After assumption by an international beer group this location was closed in 1989. In Africa a beer is brewed by Heineken under the brand Mützig. Recently the historic building of the Mutzig brewery was altered in an apartment hotel.
