Description
Innenheim is a village located at twenty kilometers from Strasbourg and 8 kilometers from Strasbourg’s airport, Entzheim. It currently counts 1123 inhabitants.
The first mention of the village dates from 731 AD under the name of Uhnenheim. Initially a possession of the Germanic Holy Roman Empire, the village was severely damaged during the Armagnac invasion and was almost completely destroyed in 1674 during the wars that opposed Louis XIV and the Empire. Following the turmoil of the Revolution, the village went through a major phase of reconstruction in the 18th century.
