Description
A winegrowing community on the Wine Route (altitude 250 m), with 1080 inhabitants, 9 km from Ribeauvillé and 11 km from Riquewihr. Self-catering made easy by many local shops. Accommodation available in the form of hotels, restaurants, bed-and-breakfast facilities and furnished flats.
Local winegrowers offer tours of their cellars with tastings. Saint-Hippolyte is famous for its Pinot Noir, 'Rouge de Saint-Hippolyte'.
This highly typical and very attractive village stands at the foot of the Haut-Koenigsbourg, and is an ideal starting-point for exploring the environs.

The 15th-and 16th-century Gothic church, the remains of the ramparts, the 16th-century fountain.
