Boersch

The Wine Route of Alsace will lead you to Boersch, a picturesque mediaeval town surrounded by sunny hillsides and vineyards. Formerly fortified, Boersch was protected by a wall dating back to the 14th century. Three towers still stand, as witnesses to these fortifications. The best way to discover the city is to visit the Renaissance Town Hall and the Six-Bucket Well and, as you stroll down the streets and alleys, take in the wine growers’ half-timbered houses and their numerous trade emblems. Saint-Léonard is a former Benedictine convent that today houses the famous Spindler marquetry workshops, where Alsatian Art Nouveau emerged at the beginning of the 20th century.
