Description
A crib, delicate scenes, 350 characters and santons come to life: alongside the animals, everything is homemade by collector Jean-Luc Weber, who has worked in several craft trades, and his mother Micheline Dillenschneider. It takes 350 hours to assemble this universe, with Jean-Luc responsible for the structures and Micheline for the interior decorations and small objects.
In the beginning, Jean-Luc's grandfather created a crib featuring Herod's temple overlooking Jerusalem. Much later came Jean-Luc's sheepfold and sawmill. Workshops, stores, markets and other scenes of daily life were added to the first sets....all are busy, like an ode to craftsmanship and ancestral gestures. The desert is also on display, with its caravans of proud camels, Bedouin tents with welcoming carpets, and decorated elephants...
