Club Vosgien - Cabbage and heritage walk
Description

The CVO is organizing a walk in partnership with the Tourist Office.
In addition to a guided tour of a Krautergersheim sauerkraut factory (with tasting!) and some information on growing and harvesting cabbage given by Robert Weber (CVO member), the program also includes a visit to the local heritage, which will exceptionally open a few doors for you:
- the climb to Alsace's highest timber-framed bell tower, with its 360° view over the plain, the Vosges and the Black Forest
- the funeral chapel where the fiancée of Goethe, one of Europe's greatest Romantic poets, novelists and playwrights, is laid to rest.
And let's not forget a guided tour of the local gem: the St-André chapel, recently restored under the aegis of the Fondation du Patrimoine and the Stéphane Bern Mission, among others.
Very easy hike (11.4km, negligible ascent).
Packed lunch (shelter).
Equipment: good shoes (for dirt and grass paths), weather-appropriate clothing, snacks, plenty of water.
RV parking du Stade d'Obernai for carpooling (€1 suggested); departure at 9am.
RV parking rue du Stade, Krautergersheim; hike starts at 9:15 am.
Reservation by Tuesday August 27 - 10am.
